That nearly every single person on the planet will have a global small business that hopefully will become BIG someday. This evolution will be similar to the shift from black and white television to color. If you had tried to watch black and white television for the rest of your life — which some consumers attempted to do because they didn’t have the money to buy a color set or hated change — that set someday would die. At some point, to repair it would have cost far more than a brand new color TV. So whether they liked it or not, consumers had to move with the masses and upgrade to the new color technology. They soon discovered it was the coolest invention ever and the best investment that money could buy! That’s how I envision the radical shift from small business to global small business.Find out five (5) best practices on why it's happening here.

You have do have a great point. IMO though, with the fast shifting phase of our technology today, Keeping up with the competition is tough. Yes, a lot of great pioneers have made some big money by out-thinking others. In our world today, it's a matter of who comes up first with something new that no one saw coming.
That's what makes a business grow fast and acquire consumers.
With regards to every person having a small business of their own? that would be nice, why not? But if ever that takes place, it won't last. Since everyone is competing with their competition, at some point, some lost competitor would bail out, leading for the idea "every person on the planet having a business" highly unlikely to happen. ;)
Thanks BC for weighing in with your insights.
My theory is "if you can dream it, you can do it." And technology will most certainly enable a lot more small businesses to go global.
I still stand by my prediction that someday, "every person on the planet will have a global small business."
